Connected Health was recently awarded the ALE GoInnovation Award from Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALE) for its work delivering critical staff and patient safety solutions to the public health sector. Connected Health was specifically recognised for its collaboration with ALE on an essential staff safety project with an Australian public hospital.
Connected Health worked collaboratively with ALE to deliver an important communications project for the public hospital’s mental health ward, which combined purpose-built smart devices with healthcare-specific applications to help improve nurse safety.

“In the case of Connected Health, it delivered an important staff safety project to a public hospital, by combining ALE IQMessenger, ALE Location Services, and Spectralink Versity smart mobile devices to improve nurse safety in the mental health ward. Connected Health and ALE worked closely together with the hospital for a proof of concept (PoC), and, once the use case was proven to be viable and valuable, the hospital started with the official implementation in the mental health ward.”
The pressure on hospitals and healthcare facilities has increased exponentially against the backdrop of the pandemic, with many facing challenges ranging from staffing shortages to visitor management. Central among these has been the fundamental issue of communication; never has it been more important for healthcare workers to have a reliable, instant, and effective means of communication to ensure quality of patient care and safety for both patients and workers.
